Tragic loss of Caitlin Forrest

The Australian racing industry is deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden death of 19 year old apprentice Caitlin Forrest yesterday at Murray Bridge races.

The loss of any jockey is a terrible tragedy, but following on so quickly from Carly-Mae Pye’s death in Rockhampton, Caitlin’s passing has rocked everyone involved in racing. It is an unspeakable sadness. The industry is rallying at this time to support their grieving family and friends including fellow jockeys.

Caitlin was such a fine rider with everything before her; diligent, professional and talented. She was determined to succeed in one of the toughest professions known to man and was full of hope and confidence. To be taken from her family and friends at such an early age is a sadness beyond comprehension.

The ARB extends to the Forrest family and Caitlin’s loved ones its sincerest and deepest condolences.
