Tomorrow Moody will outline the latest on Longines Mackinnon Stakes and Emirates Melbourne Cup contender, Brambles.

After finishing fourth in the $3 million Crown Golden Ale Caulfield Cup, Brambles is being aimed at next Tuesday’s $6.2 million Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) and will also have a lead-up run in this Saturday’s Group 1 Longines MacKinnon Stakes (2000m) on AAMI Victoria Derby Day at Flemington.

Also tomorrow Moody will have a ‘shave down’ by Movember’s professional barber after choosing to represent the organisation in the Spring Racing Premierships.

Movember is committed to changing the face of men’s health and it challenges men to grow and women to support moustaches during November to spark conversations and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.

Held across the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, the Spring Racing Premierships recognise, celebrate and reward the elite performances of the sport’s leading jockeys and trainers across five categories.

Points are awarded to the first three placegetters in each race across 16 premier race days – incorporating the four race days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival – with bonus points on offer for those who excel in the state’s elite Group 1 races.

Should Moody take out the Champion Trainer category at the conclusion of the Premierships, a $25,000 bonus will go to Movember.
