RACE 5: Bounding’s co-trainer Peter Snowden reported that the filly pulled up well, however will now be freshened up prior to racing again.

RACE 6: Stewards interviewed trainer John O'Shea regarding how Shards recovered following its disappointing performance. O'Shea stated that the stable had monitored the colt over the last few days and was of the view that in addition to racing further back than had been anticipated, due to being hampered at the start, the firmer track may not have been to its liking.

He added that Shards had otherwise pulled up well and a veterinary examination had not revealed any abnormalities. O'Shea said it was the stable's intention to continue the preparation of Shards to the Stan Fox Stakes whereby it will be the endeavour to ride the colt more positively.

A veterinary pathology report received by Racing NSW Official Veterinarian, Dr C Suann, on September 15 did not identify a specific cause for the poor performance. The matter was concluded, pending the results of post-race samples being analysed at the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory.

Holler’s trainer John O'Shea stated the colt had been monitored for the last few days since Saturday's disappointing performance and a veterinary examination had not revealed any abnormality. O'Shea stated it was the intention of the stable to trial the colt at Warwick Farm on September 25 where they would consider adding a tongue tie and in addition, they would transport Holler to attend the race meeting at Warwick Farm on September 23 in order to familiarise the colt with race day conditions before it races again. The stewards formally ruled that Holler must trial to their satisfaction.

A veterinary pathology report for Holler did not reveal any clinical significance, given that the sample was taken post race and the findings were consistent with a horse having just raced. O'Shea was advised that the report recommended a further evaluation of blood samples at rest and/or after light training to determine if there were further clinical findings of any significance. The matter was concluded, pending the results of post race samples being analysed at the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory.

RACE 7: Trainer Ron Quinton reported Boss Lane has been spelled.
