ATC Promotes Racehorse Ownership

The Australian Turf Club has launched the first of a series of events to promote racehorse ownership amongst its members and the wider public.

The ATC Owners Experience Forum will be held in the Longines Owners Pavilion at Royal Randwick on Saturday 17 December before the running of the feature Summer meeting, Inglis Villiers Day.

An expert panel featuring a variety of participants from across the racing industry will share insights and talk about the benefits of horse ownership, from 11.30am to 1pm.

The panel will include champion Sydney trainers Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller, Jonathan Dárcy, National Bloodstock Director from William Inglis and Son Thoroughbred Auctioneers, Tom Reilly the CEO of Aushorse, Henry Field, Managing Director of Newgate Stud, James Harron, Managing Director at James Harron Bloodstock, and leading owner, thoroughbred breeder and ATC Director Julia Ritchie.

Following a panel discussion hosted by Sky Racing personality Caroline Searcy, guests will have an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session.

A stand up cocktail lunch in the Longines Owners Pavilion overlooking the Theatre Of The Horse will be held as part of the forum.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager of Racing James Heddo said the day was a unique opportunity to gain some clues into buying a potential champion.

“We will hear from people who have owned and trained winners of the Golden Slipper, Melbourne Cups and Cox Plates to name a few, as well as those who have owned, sold or bought horses to win many of our biggest races,’’ Mr Heddo said.

Tickets for the ATC Owners Experience Forum are available for $40 by calling 1300 729 668 or at www.theatc.com.au
