Annual Racing Mass at Randwick on March 11

Sydney’s annual Racing Fraternity Mass will be held on Sunday March 11 at 11am in the ballroom of the Queen Elizabeth II Stand at Royal Randwick.

The Mass, an annual event that began over 50 years ago, is held for all who work with thoroughbreds and participate in the racing industry.

Leading racing personalities attend and there is a time to mix after Mass with refreshments.

The Mass remembers those who are suffering illness, injured jockeys and the recently deceased members of the industry .

The NSW raciung industry has a full time chaplain, Rev. Colin Watts, and he is supported by well-known figures Father Tom Stevens and Brother Dan Stafford.

Colin Watts is an Anglican Minister and Father Stevens and Brother Stafford represent the Catholic faith.

They work as a team under the banner of Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy.

The Randwick Racing Mass is open to all denominations.

Entry to Randwick on March 11 is via Gate 1/Main Gate off Alison Road.
