Pennywise One To Beat Again At Kranji On Sunday

Pennywise will take plenty of beating when he lines up in the Class 3 over 1400m in Singapore on Sunday.

The Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner has won three of his four career starts and comes off a nice win over 1200m on the polytrack last start in a Class 4.

Pennywise goes back on to the turf today where he has had just the one previous outing when fourth in the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe (1200m) behind Lim’s Lightning but had little luck on that occasion when blundering the start.

Form to this point indicates the son of Pure Prize (USA) should see out the 1400m trip and from barrier 2 will find a very nice spot in the run up on the speed.

Pennywise, rates well clear of his rivals in this field and is one of the more promising horses in Singapore and he should not have any issues coming up against the older horses today.

Quarter Back resumes after a lengthy spell and he showed plenty of ability in his debut campaign, winning his first two starts before fair efforts in the Classic and Guineas.

The Michael Clements-trained runner has trialled three times leading into this, winning two of them and placing on the other occasion.

The three-year-old gelding rates well against his rivals on best form but suspect he will need some luck from the wide draw and is likely to roll forward and settle on the speed.

Like Pennywise he has plenty of upside and although he will improve on whatever he does today he should be forward enough to produce a strong effort in this field.

Lord Of Cloud has been very consistent in recent times and does not appear far away from a win.

Gets back on the turf today following a last start fifth over the mile in a Stakes C and was very good the start prior when third in a Class 3 over 1100m.

The four-year-old has won over the 1400m trip previously which came on the turf on debut and if he can run up to his best today he will certainly be in the mix.

Enchanted Mister is lightly-raced and another with plenty of upside who is much better than what he produced last start.

Form prior to that was strong however and from barrier 3 will get a good run throughout and be very competitive.

Good luck!
