Lim’s Bestbreaker To Go Back To Back

The Dan Meagher trained Lim’s Bestbreaker was very impressive winning last start and now appears set to relish the step up to the mile.

A winner of three of his 17 starts, Lim's Bestbreaker's get back racing pattern has been costly throughout his career however when he gets the race run to suit he is hard to beat.

A real eye catcher over 1200m two starts back, he really lifted to win last start when appreciating the step up to 1400m.

Tearaway leader Last Samurai certainly added some spice into the race with Lim's Bestbreaker left with plenty to do on straightening.

Formerly trained in the USA, Last Samurai clearly hasn't adapted to the style of racing in Singapore when clearly wanting to go helter skelter in the lead.

Pulled one of the widest runners on straightening, Lim's Bestbreaker began to work through his gears before proving too strong late for the Michael Clements trained Iron Ruler.

While only a narrow victory when assessing his race sectionals, Lim's Bestbreaker should have more to offer stepping out to the mile.

The in-form Danny Beasley sticks aboard and while expected to go back from the draw he should be able to round them up.

Last start played right into his hands and while unlikely to get a similar tempo in front, there still appears enough speed to bring him into it.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he sits clear off his last start win and with even luck looks hard to beat.

The Michael Clements trained Shepherd's Hymn has placed in six of eight attempts over the mile and a key switch with Manoel Nunes going aboard.

Kept on the fresh side (29 days), the blinkers also come off and he's drawn to get every chance.

While his form appears patchy on paper, he is clearly capable and looms as a major threat.

The Tim Fitzsimmons trained Thunder was fairly plain first up but have to respect his SP ($1.80) and he is expected to improve sharply second up.

Much like Shepherd's Hymn he rates well on best form and shapes as one of the main dangers.

Of the rest last start winner Billy Elliot appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
