Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 19th March 2022

For the sixth year in a row we are faced with a wet track for Golden Slipper day though fortunately it won’t be as wet as 2017.

Every year I remind the boss (Gaz) about that day as I'll never forget him blowing up about ruining his shoes.

I am hopeful of it getting back into the soft range though we have been working with wet tracks for several weeks now and don't see it as an issue on Saturday.

The George Ryder Stakes now run on the same day as the All-Star-Mile has held up well all things considered.

The Annabel Neasham trained Mo'Unga should have won first up when not given the best steer in the Futurity Stakes [1400m].

Open to good improvement and this looks the logical progression stepping up to 1500m.

Unbeaten in two attempts at Rosehill and has never missed the money second up.

As an entire this race is very valuable for his CV and no doubt has been one of his main targets all the way through.

From the soft draw he looks to get the perfect run and should settle closer than what we saw behind Sierra Sue.

Forbidden Love looks to land leader's back and expect Berry to track her throughout.

His career peaks leave him with a slight edge and he deserves to be favourite.

Forbidden Love is certainly flying but expect Mo'Unga to come out on top.

In the final event happy to side the Ryan and Alexiou trained Mallory.

Given a sore back first up in the Kevin Hayes Stakes she showed good improvement when brought back home finishing second behind the much in-form Mazu.

Her closing splits were very good and she should be right at her peak third up.

The Wizard legs aboard from the favourable draw and under the weight conditions she only has to hold her form to be very competitive.

Hasn't won in over a year but judging by her latest performance another win shouldn't be far away.

Much like Mo'unga she is entitled to be favourite and looks hard to beat.
