Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 26th March 2022

Melbourne form is to the fore in Saturday’s Emancipation Stakes with talented mares Annavisto and Kissonallforcheeks heading the market.

Kissonallforcheeks raced solely in WA prior to her last start but both mares won at Flemington in the lead up, I'm sure the Victorians would love to claim her.

With rain assured today and tomorrow it is unlikely Kissonallforcheeks will take her place and is expected to wait for the Doncaster next weekend.

As a result The price will haemorrhage for Annavisto however hoping deduction lotto plays in our favour as she looks an odds-on chance.

She made a mess of her rivals in the Tressady Stakes first up and is clearly back in great order.

Rated 115 by Timeform she returned a clear new career peak and is already marked an above average winner of the Emancipation.

In the last five years the winning average has been 111, the last time a mare broke the 115 mark was Catkins in 2015.

Away from Kissonallforcheeks she clearly has the rest covered and looks to get a lovely trail for Jamie Kah.

Expect her to be winning on Saturday and while the final field is still up in the air, she should be hard to beat in the Queen Of The Turf on the 9th of April.

In the final event the Kris Lees trained Rustic Steel looks well placed to go back to back following his demolition job at Newcastle last start.

An eye catcher fresh behind Maotai he displayed good improvement second up and it's hard seeing him take a backwards step at Rosehill on Saturday.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he possesses the best last start figure and has drawn to settle wherever Bowman sees fit.

None riding better than him at present and while Taksu is a solid conveyance to beat, Rustic Steel has more upside and should be favourite.
