Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 9th July 2022

No uncertainty around the Randwick track this weekend it will be a quagmire already a Heavy 10 with more rain expected.

The John O'Shea trained Waihaha Falls returned in great order last start and appears well placed to go back-to-back in the seventh event.

Having always shown good promise, he gave them a galloping lesson first up and returned a new career peak in the process.

Form hasn't worked out as yet, however he is clearly trending the right way and has won second up previously.

Scratched from the wide draw last week (race didn't eventuate anyway), he looks to get a much kinder run on the map and should land just behind the speed.

His closing splits were indicative of a horse capable of winning better races and with even luck he should go very close.

For those that listen to the podcast you know I'll be keen to get Taksu beat in the Winter Stakes as he was given a 15/10 from Glyn last start.

Sure he'll appreciate the heavy conditions but by our read of the sectionals he just can't go any better than what he did last start.

That leaves the door open for Chief Altony to take full advantage.

Narrowly beaten at his last two starts in Melbourne, it was a tough watch at Caulfield last start and he appears well placed to make amends on Saturday.

Proven to handle all conditions, he gets every chance down in the weights with O'Hara booked.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he is the clear top pick and if able to hold his form, he is sure to be in the finish.
