Behemoth wins Tab Penny Edition Stakes Listed, $100,000 at Morphettville Parks, 1400m.

The favourite Behemoth ,who was having his third run this preparation, settled in fifth place, going a bit keenly in stages behind a very steady tempo.

He moved up (deep) from the 600m, made a wide move at the home turn and kept running on well in the sprint home to grab a narrow but good win.

Amberdi had a good trip in fourth place, took the lead at the 200m and then battled gamely for a very good second. Second favourite Waging War had a good trip in third place on the rails but was blocked on turning for home.

He finally got clear at the 100m and then ran on to take third, looking unlucky. Vieira kept running on quite well from sixth at the home turn for fourth while Long Leaf raced outside the leader (Special Diva) and battled on in the straight for (2.7 lengths) fifth.
