The Leticia Dragon trained Surpass Natural made it four straight at Singapore on Sunday, again too sharp under John Powell.

Lined up in the ninth event, Surpass Natural had been most impressive in his first three starts and made the rise to Class 3 with consummate ease.

A dominant display at his start prior, Surpass Natural dropped 2.5kg, but was facing his stiffest test, not that the market agreed ($1.20F).

He simply ran them off their legs two back, but didn't have it all his own way on Sunday.

Beginning well from the middle draw, he pressed on to sit outside the lead with the Stephen Gray trained Unconquered holding the rail.

Under riding coming into the straight, Unconquered did look to travel the better of the two, before Surpass Natural got to work.

Taking over inside the 200m, Surpass Natural began to draw away, switching off late to score by a length and change.

Returning a Timeform rating of 84, he improved three pounds on his previous best and is clearly a galloper trending the right way.

One of the better maiden winners you'll see, Surpass Natural was rated 75+ by Timeform and he's certainly used that '+' to his full advantage.

At his second start he made the jump to 1200m (on the turf) and while only falling in, his performance was still very good.

Untouchable on the polytrack it will be very interesting to see which way Dragon heads with the four-year-old.

While still wanting to do a bit wrong, Dragon has toyed with the idea of adding blinkers, though they remain off for now.

"He pulled in the middle stages, but another furlong later, he came back nicely underneath me," Powell said.

 "He then dropped the bridle, and I had to give him a slap-up. It was a good effort to make it four in a row, it's never easy to do that.

 "Like I said before, he likes to play the fool at times. We tried the blinkers on in a trial and he went too hard.

 "He's got the ring bit now and he tends to charge off. I told Leticia to leave the blinkers out for now, but we'll have to put them on at the right time."

He's already achieved so much in his first preparation and very much looking forward to seeing what level he reaches, he's very talented.
