Murray Bridge Races Review on 6th August 2022

The father and son training combination of Tony and Calvin McEvoy started the season off well when the three-year-old first starter Intrepid Eagle took out the opening race of 1200 metres at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Ridden by Ryan Hurdle Intrepid Eagle  won the start and settled on e off the pace until he cleared away in the straight to win convincingly.

A consistent place-getter Lord Bouzeron  landed his first win in nearly 430 days when he took out the 2500 metre second race.

Being under the care of Michael Hickmott and steered to victory by apprentice Ben Price Lord Bouzeron sat one off the pace before getting the upper hand over his rivals late in the event.

Arkham Knight was another runner to register his first win in a long time when he took out the 1000 metre third race.

Coming out of the Goolwa stable of John Macmillan the Todd Pannell guided Arkham Knight  came from well back to meet with success in a busy photo finish.

After winning the metropolitan trainers' premiership last season Richard and Chantelle Jolly won their first race for the new season when Yuri Royale took out the 1600 metre fourth race.

Piloted to victory by Jake Toeroek Yuri Royale came from well back in the field with a strong run late in the race.

Trainer Ryan Balfour made the right decision scratching So Say Angel  from Flemington when the mare won the 1400 metre fifth race at Murray Bridge.

Ridden by Jason Holder who has won four races in the last six starts on the mare So Say Angel came from a better than midfield position to win.

Victor Harbor based trainer Jake Stephens continued his good run when his charge Rapid Raiser won the 1800 metre sixth race.

Having the services of apprentice Lachlan Neindorf Rapid Raiser settled midfield before going on to record a solid win.

Trainer Michael Hickmott brought up his second winner for the day on his home track when Taunting took out the 1000 metre seventh race.

Having the services of Jessica Eaton Taunting was well back in the field in the middle stages but, aided by a rails-run, went on to win.

Lachlan Neindorf landed his second winner for the day when My Khalfia won the 1000 metre eighth race.

Coming out of the Gordon Richards and Damian Moyle stable at Morphettville My Khalfia was seen running on from a midfield position with a rails-run.

Apprentice Teagan Voorham completed a good day for the young guns when she rode Samesyn to victory in the 1400 metre final event.

Being under the care of Morphettville trainer Jon O'Connor Samesyn came from a worse than midfield position with a withering run over the concluding stages.
