SRI LANKA V AUSTRALIA, SECOND TEST, DAY FOUR:

Score: Australia (364 and 151) lost to Sri Lanka (554) by an innings and 39 runs.

SUMMARY: Australia's hopes of rolling through Sri Lanka early were foiled when Dinesh Chandimal grinded through the first session before going into rampage mode after lunch. The former Sri Lanka captain scored 42 runs from his final 18 balls to finish unbeaten on 206 and help the hosts to 554. From there it was always going to be about survival rather than winning for Australia. But the fight to stay in the game lasted less than four hours, with Sri Lanka rolling through Pat Cummins' men in just 41 overs to secure a big innings win and draw the series.

MAN OF THE MOMENT: Prabath Jayasuriya. He ran through Australia with figures of 6-59 to go with his first-innings 6-118. In doing so, the 30-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner became just the fifth man in Test history to take 12 wickets in a game on debut.

KEY MOMENT: Jayasuriya's fifth over. Australia were 1-59 and still eyeing off the possibility of batting long and saving the match. Five balls later and Usman Khawaja had been caught in close and Steve Smith trapped lbw, and the game was as good as gone.

STAT OF THE DAY: Sri Lanka's win is just the fifth ever over Australia in Test cricket and their first by a margin of an innings.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "It might be a reality check that it's tough playing away from home, in different conditions to what we've grown up playing in." Pat Cummins on Australia's disappointing end to five straight Tests on the sub-continent, finishing with two wins, two draws and one loss in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
