Hannah Green holds a one shot lead after the second round of the $200,000 TPS Murray River tournament.

Hannah Green is well on track to become the first woman to win a Webex Players Series event after she took the halfway lead in the $200,000 TPS Murray River tournament.

Major championship winner Green followed up her Cobram Barooga course record 64 with a 65 on Friday to reach 13 under and sit one shot clear of first-round co-leader Andrew Evans.

Whitney Hillier, Cassie Porter, Momoka Kobori and Matthew Millar shared third place at 10 under.

The innovative Webex Players Series was introduced at the start of 2021 and has men and women competing side by side in the same field for the same prize purse and one trophy, with the events part of the PGA Tour of Australasia and WPGA Tour schedules.

The best finish by a woman so far has been Su Oh's tie for third at TPS Victoria last year.

West Australian Green expected the low scoring to continue over the weekend, predicting that a score between 20 and 30-under par will be required to win.

"That's what I'm striving for. If that doesn't come out with a win then I can't really complain," Green said.

"I've just got to see what conditions we get this weekend. I'm not really sure if the wind is going to pick up or stay like this.

"It'll still be tough to win the tournament."

Earlier in the day, Australian PGA Championship winner Jed Morgan retired hurt during his second round due to a neck injury.

Tomorrow is Yellow Day, with crowds expected to create a sea of yellow with the event being played in memory of Jarrod Lyle.

Entry is via gold coin donation, with all funds going to Challenge, the leukaemia charity that Lyle supported since 2004.
