Luke List clinches second PGA title after five-man play-off

Luke List clinched his second ever PGA title after holing a 45-foot putt at the first hole of a five-man playoff, as the Sanderson Farms Championship provided a thrilling finish in Jackson, Mississippi.

List's four play-off rivals all failed to match his birdie at the first extra hole, including Ryder Cup winner Ludvig Aberg, who narrowly missed out on his first PGA Tour win..

Aberg, who only turned professional in June and has already won on the DP World Tour, shot a final round 68 to reach the playoff as overnight leader Ben Griffin stumbled in the closing holes.

But List closed the door on fellow Americans Griffin and Scott Stallings, plus Swedish pair Aberg and Norlander, with his dramatic putt on the first extra hole,

"It's been a full roller coaster," he said. "I hung in there. I didn't think it was going to be enough, but here we are. It's been a crazy 20 minutes."

Griffin fell away on the last day, opening the opportunity for the other four after he hit 74.

"It's a bummer," Griffin said. "I thought I was going to still be able to get it done today."

Aberg congratulated List on the victory, describing his winning putt as "unbelievable".
