Beach volleyballers in form for Games bid

Tokyo Olympic silver medallists Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar have won a World Tour event in Portugal ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

Australia's Olympic silver medal beach volleyball pair will take winning form into this month's Commonwealth Games.

Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar made it two-from-two at World Tour events at Portugal's Praia da Baia, coming from behind to beat Americans Corinne Quiggle and Sarah Schermerhorn in three sets, 19-21 21-19 15-12.

The duo began their partnership with victory on the same Portugal beach in 2018, before combining to win silver at the Gold Coast Games in the same year.

The Tour heads to Africa for the first time this week for a Morocco leg before the Australians head to Birmingham seeking Commonwealth Games gold.
