Melbourne snapped a four-game losing streak with a win against the Warriors, but injury and possible suspensions mar celebrations

For the second time in the 2022 NRL season, the Storm cashed in on a flat second half by the Warriors, winning 24-12 at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.

While the consistent Justin Olam surprised few by opening the scoring, Marion Seve was a constant threat on the other side of the park.

Wingers Dean Ieremia and Grant Anderson had strong games, while Nick Meaney did a fine job of filling the very large gap left by Ryan Papenhuyzen.

That was, of course, until Meaney was forced from the field with a shoulder injury in the second half. This caused another positional change with Tyran Wishart replacing him, but by then the clinical Storm had shut the Warriors out of the game with a 24-8 buffer.

"It'd be a cruel blow to lose Nick, he's been one of our best this year. Just how bad it is, I'm not sure," said Bellamy.

Bellamy was quick to praise the efforts of his reshuffled backline.

"Our ruck was really good, but we did so with not much experience on the edges. Our whole back five is pretty inexperienced, he said.

"They really stood up tonight."

Nelson Asofa-Solomona's hit on Wayde Egan left the Warriors hooker with a suspected broken jaw after only a few minutes.

While Egan returned to the field, it was an act that saw the Storm prop placed on report and left the big Mt Smart crowd incensed.

What looked like a possible eye gouge by Josh King on Jazz Tavaga fired the Warriors up, with Ed Kosi flying over in the corner after a cut-out-pass by Chanel Harris-Tavita.

King was also put on report, he and Asofa-Solomona could be facing a spell on the sidelines for both incidents.

Bellamy was full of praise for the Warriors, who lost by a record 70-10 margin when the two sides met on Anzac Day.

"You'll never see a game like that again (Anzac Day)," Bellamy said.

"I don't think we touched the ball for about four sets during the game tonight. I was impressed with the way the Warriors played. They showed a lot more fight."

One of the Warriors to certainly redeem himself was winger Kosi, who scored a hattrick, including the final try of the match in the 63rd minute.

Kosi had endured a nightmare game on Anzac Day, his side of the field opening up easily as the Storm piled a record thrashing.
