Penrith prop James Fisher-Harris should be in the NRL's limelight but he prefers to keep a low profile and let his actions do the talking.

If you want proof actions speak louder than words, just ask Penrith players about teammate James Fisher-Harris.

They believe if Fisher-Harris wasn't so reserved the prop would be a household name and a genuine superstar of the NRL alongside the likes of Nathan Cleary, Latrell Mitchell and Payne Haas.

The New Zealander prefers to keep to himself and let his devastating actions do the talking.

Fisher-Harris represents the beating heart of Penrith's pack and his battle with Junior Paulo, who embodies the way Parramatta will seek to play, looms as key in deciding the outcome of Sunday's grand final.

"I think he's been one of the best front-rowers for the last four years or something and because he's so quiet he sort of goes unnoticed," said back-rower Liam Martin.

"I think that's how he prefers it.

"He's incredible and he's just been such a huge key to our success.

"The work ethic that he brought to this club, like everyone, thrives off it and it lifts everyone up. He's just at the next level.

"He's so physical, there's so few of them (like that) and I think we've got two of the best (props) in him and Moses (Leota). They thrive on that sort of game and they love it."

Fisher-Harris was narrowly overlooked for the Dally M team of the year this week but fellow front-rower Spencer Leniu says that wouldn't have bothered the Kiwi international in the slightest.

I don't know about underrated, I think he's pretty rated," Leniu said.

"Obviously he's not the biggest talker, he's just a person that just does his work and doesn't really care about accolades or any of that stuff.

"He just wants to do the best for the team and I think that's the biggest thing about Fish and his character.

"He'll do anything for the boys and to get us a win."
