Henry Hutchison sits one shy of 100 Rugby Sevens World Series tries as Australia's men head to the Vancouver stop in second place.

Two-time Olympian Hutchison, who has played in 37 tournaments, has starred this year alongside Corey Toole and Dietrich Roache to put Australia in medal contention at the Commonwealth Games later this year.

They could own a world title before that, John Manenti's side sitting second thanks to two silvers and a third in five events this season.

Tokyo Olympian Nathan Lawson is the only change to the squad that claimed bronze in Singapore last week, replacing Stu Dunbar who will attend his sister's wedding.

Australia will play hosts Canada, Spain and South Africa in their pool games on Sunday.

Meanwhile the women's side have spent a week training in Brisbane and on Thursday they opposed Churchie's First XV men's side ahead of their penultimate stop on Langford's synthetic turf from April 30.

Churchie graduate Tim Walsh's side have won three gold and a bronze in the four events to date and can seal the world title in Canada, which will also mark the end of New Zealand's COVID-enforced tournament exile.

"To get the Kiwis back is fantastic, that's the benchmark team," Walsh said.

"We want to be ready and prepared to play them and wrap up the World Series.

"We're hoping to see the pendulum swing, moving it on to Commonwealth Games and on to Paris (2024 Olympics), the program's in good shape to be able to attack the best in the world and be the best in the world."
