England produced a remarkable comeback to draw with New Zealand last weekend and are subsequently seen as 4/7 favourites in Saturday's Autumn Nations Series clash with South Africa at Twickenham.
Eddie Jones' side recovered from 19 points down to draw 25-25 with the All Blacks and will need to battle to a similar standard to get a result against the Springboks, who are 15/8 underdogs.
With South Africa's only win this Autumn coming against Italy (21-63), there are certainly cracks to be exploited in the world champions' armour.
A physical battle is anticipated, and if England are to win, it is likely to be by a slender margin – by 1-5 points at 9/2 could be good value, especially considering South Africa's defeats to Ireland and France earlier this month came by three and four points respectively.
Another angle to look at could be a half-time/full-time bet. Given England started slowly against the All Blacks and South Africa have been in contention at the break in both their recent defeats, backing South Africa/England at 11/2 or even Draw/England at 20/1 could be interesting options.
England are –5 point favourites (10/11) on the spread, though betting slightly above this line could be good value for the braver punter, with a –7 point handicap on England priced at 6/5.
Elsewhere on Saturday, two sides that have endured disappointing Autumn Nations Series campaigns go head-to-head as Wales host Australia.
Wales are backed as 13/16 favourites, but given their shock 13-12 defeat to Georgia last weekend, a punt on the Wallabies at 13/10 could be worthwhile.
Australia may have suffered a surprise loss themselves earlier this month, going down 28-27 to Italy, but they were only narrowly beaten by quality opposition in France (30-29) and Ireland (13-10), while Wales were thrashed 55-23 by New Zealand.
Again, a half-time/full-time bet could prove lucrative, with Australia/Australia paying out at 7/4. Backing the Wallabies to win by 6-10 points (11/2) or by 11-15 points (9/1) are alternative, attractive offers.
Wales may be –2.5 favourites on the spread, but handicap bets on the Wallabies seem to provide the best value. Australia at –7.5 (13/5) or –12.5 (9/2) are both intriguing choices.
