Georgia boss Willy Sagnol has accused UEFA of showing a "lack of respect" after his side were beaten 2-0 in a rain-delayed Euro 2024 qualifier on Tuesday.

Sagnol's men were beaten 2-0 by Scotland at Hampden Park in a game which was delayed for 90 minutes after heavy rain in Glasgow.

Sagnol said his side, who had lost just once in 15 games going into the Group A qualifier, were told to "shut up and do what we tell you" after the game was halted early on after Scotland had taken the lead.

Play eventually resumed 90 minutes later and Scott McTominay added a second two minutes into the second-half to add to Callum McGregor's opener.

Georgia superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed a penalty in added time, but the visitors were well beaten as Scotland maintained their 100% record.

"We started the match under massive pressure from UEFA," said the former France international.

"They don't give you explanations, but it wasn't easy for us or for Scotland.

"I spoke with Steve Clarke after the third minute of the match and we both agreed it was impossible to play football in the conditions.

"But the referee allowing the game to go on until after Scotland scored the opening goal made it a very difficult situation for everyone.

"Everybody had had enough of the situation, but it was basically 'shut up and do what we tell you to do'.

"They told us we had six minutes but these are professional footballers and they were cold. It was a lack of respect."
