Fulham vs Brighton tips: Seagulls to have their wings clipped

Fulham will be looking to build on an excellent win against Manchester United as they face an inconsistent Brighton side at Craven Cottage on Saturday (1500 GMT).

Alex Iwobi sent Fulham fans into a frenzy with a 97th minute winner at Old Trafford, giving the Cottagers their first victory at the Theatre of Dreams since 2003.

Now Marco Silva's side will be looking to get a second consecutive Premier League win and look to edge closer to the top half.

However, Fulham have only won back-to-back games in the league once this season, a pair of 5-0 victories over Nottingham Forest and West Ham back in December.

Brighton will be looking to address their own inconsistencies too, as their last eight results in all competitions consist of three wins, two draws and three losses, including an FA Cup exit against Wolves in midweek.

That's mid-table form from Roberto De Zerbi's men, but they still find themselves in seventh place due to mixed form from those around them and their own stellar start to the season.

Fulham are firmly in bogey team territory for the Seagulls though, with their last win against Saturday's hosts coming in a Championship fixture back in 2017.

As well as facing their bogey team, Brighton's problems appear to be mounting, with influential winger Kaoru Mitoma out for the season, which adds to a chunky injury list.

Also De Zerbi's troops are likely to be much-changed once again as they are in the middle of a fixture pile up, with four games in the next 11 days including a tough assignment against Roma in the Europa League.

On the other hand Fulham will be fresh, having had a week off, and will be in buoyant mood following their first away win since the opening day.

While they've struggled on the road, Silva's side have been solid at the Cottage, conceding just 15 in their 13 home games this season, only the top three have conceded less goals on their own patch, while they have also found the net in each of their last four matches so are in good goalscoring form.

Rodrigo Muniz has expertly stepped in for the injured Raul Jimenez, as he has found the net four times in his last four league appearances.

Despite their inconsistencies, you can almost always rely on Brighton to score, as they have found the net in 22 of their 26 Premier League matches this season, so the goals market will offer plenty of value

Given the circumstances, it looks like Fulham will be favourites to extend their unbeaten run against the Seagulls.

Team news

Harrison Reed and Willian are doubtful for this one, with both facing late fitness tests.

Joao Palinha is suspended after accumulating 10 yellow cards, while Raul Jimenez is out with a thigh injury.

Tariq Lamptey, Joel Veltman and Evan Ferguson will face late fitness tests, all three missed the midweek FA Cup defeat to Wolves.

Kaoru Mitoma, Jack Hinshelwood, Joao Pedro, Solly March and James Milner are all ruled out with injury, while Billy Gilmour is suspended following his red card against Everton.
