Newcastle vs Wolves tips: Goals on menu as European hopefuls collide

Looking at the season, there have already been a number of success stories. Aston Villa's incredible run, Luton's brave effort and even Tottenham's transformation under Ange Postecoglou.

However, one story which doesn't get enough plaudits is the work of Gary O'Neil at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The former Bournemouth boss arrived at Molineux on the eve of the new season after ex-manager Julen Lopetegui quit due to an unfavourable transfer and financial situation.

Despite facing difficulties, O'Neil was able to put together a decent squad and the results have been nothing short of superb.

Wolves currently sit ninth in the standings and could finish the weekend as high as seventh, should other results go their way. That is simply unprecedented.

One team which Wolves currently sit above are Newcastle.

For all their newly found financial strength, the Magpies have endured a tricky campaign. Nevertheless, they still have enough time in the season to turn fortunes around and push for a spot in Europe.

Scoring goals has not been a problem for Eddie Howe's men. Newcastle have scored 17 goals across their last seven Premier League matches. Keeping goals out is a whole other story.

Wolves, on the other hand, have lost just two of their last 13 matches across all competitions.

O'Neil's men are looking for their fourth straight victory, with their last three successes all coming by a single goal margin.

With both teams confident in finding the back of the net, we're backing both to get on the scoresheet in a high-scoring affair.

Team news

Newcastle are without Joelinton, Nick Pope, Matt Targett, Callum Wilson and the suspended Sandro Tonali.

Wolves, meanwhile, are missing Mattheus Cunha. Hwang Hee-Chan is also a doubt.
