A trip to Johannesburg is being considered for J&B Met hero Hill Fifty Four as part of his preparation for the Vodacom Durban July.

Hill Fifty Four went one better than last year when winning the R2.5m Group 1 J & B Met (2000m) at Kenilworth on Saturday before a crowd of 36,500 after skilful planning by trainer Vaughan Marshall and tactical riding by Anton Marcus.

Horse of the Year Variety Club gave notice that he may be the horse to beat in the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and G1 J & B Met over the summer when he gave many of his likely rivals a caning in the G2 Green Point Stakes over 1600m at Kenilworth.
