The Ciaron Maher-trained runner settled second with Lasqueti Spirit leading by as much as eight lengths at one point, setting a genuine early tempo.

Coming to the turn Jameka cruised up to the leader before running away in the straight for a dominant six and a half length win over Humidor in second, with Exospheric third, the same top three from the Australian Cup (2000m).

Claiming her third Group 1 win, Jameka returned a new career peak Timeform figure of 124, three pounds higher than her Caulfield Cup win over Scottish during the spring.

Taking into consideration the mares allowance, Jameka is the highest rated winner of the race since Makybe Diva in 2005 who also ran to 124 when beating Grand Armee.

The last mare to win the race was Silent Achiever in 2014 who ran to 123 when beating It’s A Dundeel with 2016 winner Preferment running to 123.

Since the inception of this race in 1963 (Tancred Cup) Jameka is now the fourth runner to complete the BMW- Caulfield Cup double with Ethereal (2001/2), Might And Power (1997/8) and Hayai (1983/4) also achieving the feat.

Of those runners only Might And Power has also won the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which provided she recovers from travel sickness will be the next target where she will take on Winx.

Of the beaten runners, Humidor was solid again in second and ran to 118, below the 125 when winning the Australian Cup with Exospheric in third running to 114, below the 121 he returned in the Australian Cup.

The Racing and Sports field strength value of 124.2 is solid for a Group 1 race, above the 122.1 of last year's renewal.

Montoya’s Secret secured her first Group 1 success when taking out the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) later in the day.

Settling around midfield, the Troy Corstens-trained runner found space at the top of the straight and running on strongly in the heavy conditions along the rail secured a narrow win over the fast finishing Nurse Kitchen in second with Harlow Gold third.

Montoya’s Secret ran to a clear new career peak Timeform figure of 112, 19 pounds higher than her win at Moonee Valley the start prior.

The daughter of High Chaparral is the equal lowest rated winner of the race since Murjulisa Lass in 2011, with 2016 winner Single Gaze also running to 112.

Nominated and likely to head towards the ATC Oaks (2400m) Montoya’s Secret will be hoping to strike another wet track when she lines up in the feature.

Six runners have previously completed the Vinery Stud (Storm Queen)-ATC Oaks double - Sheraco (1982), Research (1989), Alcove (1994), Danendri (1997), Serenade Rose (2006), Heavenly Glow (2008).

Of the beaten runners, Nurse Kitchen who made terrific ground late also ran to a new career peak Timeform figure of 111, six pounds above her Group 2 Fillies Classic win at Moonee Valley last year with Harlow Gold in third running to 110, two pounds below his Australian Guineas fourth.

Jon Snow went a long way to franking the Gingernuts form when he claimed victory in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m).

Running third to Gingernuts in the Group 1 New Zealand Derby the start prior, Jon Snow proved too strong for his rivals when beating Prized Icon by just under three lengths with Captain Duffy well back in third.

Jon Snow returned a new career peak Timeform figure of 117, four pounds below his Derby effort and six pounds below Gingernuts’ Rosehill Guineas win.

The Murray Baker & Andrew Forsman-trained runner is the equal highest rated winner of the race since Starcraft (2004) who ran to 119 with Hauraki also running to 117 in 2015.

Jon Snow now looks likely to join fellow New Zealand galloper Gingernuts in the ATC Derby (2400m) with both well in the market following recent wins.

Since the inception of the Tulloch Stakes in 1973, six runners have completed the Tulloch-Derby double being Starcraft (2004), Ivory’s Irish (1995), Mahogany (1994), Durbridge (1991) and Prolific (1984).

With fellow New Zealand galloper Tavago taking out the 2016 ATC Derby and running to 118, this win certainly brings Jon Snow right into the mix.

Prized Icon was solid again in second place running to 108, well below his previous peak of 120 with Captain Duffy in third running to a new career peak figure of 105.
