Esk racecourse is one of Queensland’s most historic racing venues with racing first recorded in the 1800s. Esk racecourse is located 110 km north west of Brisbane and has been managed by the Esk Jockey Club for more than 100 years. Esk race course hosts up to eight race meetings each year. It is a circle track of 1600m circumference with a short 250m home straight favouring leaders. The track features tight turns and a downhill run from the 800m.

A feature of the course is a nine-hole golf course within its circumference. Esk racecourse caters for races from 800m to 1750m with chutes for starts over 800m and 1200m. The Esk picnic races have been held annually in April since 1975 and are a popular feature of the racing calendar.
