Quirindi racecourse is the home of the Quirindi Jockey Club and has been popularly known as the Showcourse of Country Racing for many years. Quirindi is an historic agricultural centre located 360km northwest of Sydney and 60km south of Tamworth at the gateway to the famous Liverpool Plains.

Quirindi racing has existed for more than a century with the Quirindi Jockey Club formed in 1946. Quirindi Jockey Club conducts seven race meetings each year with the feature days including the Quirindi Cup in February, Willow Tree Cup in June and Murrurundi Cup on Boxing Day. Quirindi racecourse is a circular layout of 1900 metres circumference with a home straight of 390 metres. A notable feature of the track is the downhill run from the 900m to the finish that contributes to fast times under the right conditions. There are two starting chutes for races over 1200 metres and 1600 metres. Inside barriers are an advantage at the 1000m, 1200m and 1400m starts.
