Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 8.
Major Australian TAB meetings are held today at Ballarat, Mudgee, Sunshine Coast, Nowra and Kalgoorlie.
BALLARAT: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM
Tricky affair. NARRATED (5) is a very consistent horse having only missed a place once in eleven starts to date. He ran out an easy winner over this trip when first up last campaign, handles rain affected going and is easy to like with natural improvement. IMPROVIDENT (3) was a runaway winner in easier grade last start having broken his Maiden over the course and trip two starts ago when in the market. He's progressing nicely and looms as a danger from a forward position in the run. SABRE PRINCESS (14) just missed over the course and distance when resuming last time in before a close up effort at Flemington on Oaks day. She has good ability on her day and another forward showing fresh can be expected. SELECTIONS: Narrated is easy to like first up.

MUDGEE: RACE 6 @ 4:05 PM
SAINT OF KATOWICE (6) is in one of the nation's top barns and has traced the last two in stronger grade in Melbourne. Has a wide gate but has the speed to skip across. He's right up to this if presented on song. GREAT BUY (9) has had one blip in a string of strong efforts and that was in Open grade in town. He will also race handy and can make the finish. INVINCIBLE DASH (8) is in a sharp Canberra yard and resumed in good order in the Wagga Open. Has won 3/3 second-up and keep very safe. SELECTIONS: With #6 Saint Of Katowice.
NOWRA: RACE 3 @ 2:00 PM
FLYING ANNIE (1) is exactly that with two wins and two placings from four starts this time in work. Gets 3kg off with the claim and hails from a very astute barn. Is clearly the hardest to toss. The well-related COOL ENCOUNTER (3) resumes here but showed more than enough when last in work to warrant serious consideration in this. Looms as the main danger. LIGHTS ON THE HILL (4) is a consistent conveyance hitting the top four in six runs before the spell. Can run a race while fresh. ROYAL GUN SALUTE (5) got the job done around this circuit last time out and looks one for the multiples. SINGLE CROWN (2) is having his first run for the new stable and a watch on betting is advised. SELECTIONS: #1 Flying Annie to win.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 1 @ 12:35 PM
JEWEL FLIGHT (5) resumes from a spell and with three placings from three career runs is one of the leading winning chances. Last start at Doomben wjhen sent out as the $2.10 favourite she finished third of 12 runners over 1640m when racing up on the speed. Fresh-up she will ready to fire. UZERLI (7) disappointed last start when finishing 10th at Ipswich after running third on the turn, she is better than that and should be given a chance to atone today. I AM WINKLES (4) resumes from a spell and having placed here when on debut commands some respect, include in combinations. SELECTIONS: #5 Jewel Flight to resume on a winning note.
KALGOORLIE: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM
KALLAROO (2) win at Esperance and then came here beaten a half-length after a slow off. Gets weight relief and a low gate and leading hoop. He can bounce back. KAKADU (7) just missed against the above resuming and then was plainer after. Will be better for that and can feature with a good ride from the outside barrier. SWEET SNITTY (1) just missed at Mt Barker two-back at this level as favourite. That stacks up and he's in the mix. BLACK COMET (5) needed the run resuming for the top local barn. He is right up to this at best and quick improvement is likely. SELECTIONS: Backing #2 Kallaroo.
