The Aussies are coming – actually they have already arrived.
That is trainer Will Clarken, jockey Caitlin Jones and horses I'm A Balter and Parsifal plus their attendants.
Both horses will run in the G2 Blue Point Sprint over 1200m on the turf track. There is a very short priced favourite Godolphin's Lazuli (Appleby-Buick) who won 2 races in the UK and was second on his first appearance in Dubai with the UK markets putting him at 8/15.
As a result the two Aussie runners are pretty generously priced at 12/1 for He's A Balter and 20/1 for Parsifal. Caitlin had an agonising decision to make but opted for He's A Balter who nearly won last time out. Jamie Spencer has the ride on Parsifal who is quoted at 20/1. Evidently last time the saddle slipped. We will also be putting Dahawi in the mix on 25/1.
Earlier the G2 UAE Oaks is over 1900m with 7 runners. The Faewzi Nass trained Shahama is also odds-on here at 1/4 as she is unbeaten in her three outings to date which includes the UAE 1000 Guineas.
The Nad Al Sheba Trophy G3 over 2800m is a prep for the Dubai Gold Cup and has 15 starters headed by another odds-on shot in Godolphin's Manoba (Appleton-Buick) who is unbeaten in her last 4 outings which include the Prix Chaudenay at Longchamp. The rest of the card is at very generous odds and include Pablo Escobarr on 17/2 and Dancing King on 12/1.
