It is the final day of the Festival and also the main highlight – the Grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup over 5294 metres.

Our best bet is in the last race of the week, the Martin Pipe Conditional Hurdle over 4075 metres. Best of luck!

CHELTENHAM – Race 4 No. 2 – A Plus Tard ($4.40, Ladbrokes)

The showpiece event of the week is as competitive as ever. GALVIN (6) could be the one to beat proving all heart when running on late to agonisingly deny A PLUS TARD (2) by a short-head in the G1 Savills Chase at Leopardstown. With fairly testing ground his proven stamina and course form looks to be a major positive in what will be a stellar renewal. The latter mentioned is in the mix having finished runner-up to stablemate MINELLA INDO (7) in this race last year. Of the Henry De Bromhead duo he might prefer conditions though it would be no shock if both were involved.

CHELTENHAM – Race 7 No. 10 – Langer Dan ($6, Ladbrokes)

In hindsight LANGER DAN (10) was incredibly unlucky to encounter a subsequent G1 winner when runner-up off 1kg lower in this race last year. Recent outing at Taunton will have placed him in good shape for this and a bold bid is expected revisiting a course and distance he clearly relishes.

TAKE THE R&S DOUBLE with Ladbrokes: $26.40
