The Darryl Ward-trained Dublin De Quo (2 f ex Jibina by Northern Meteor) broke her maiden on debut at Warwick on Thursday and in doing so became the eighth winner for the Kitchwin Hills-based first season sire Sooboog (Snitzel).

Under jockey Anthony Allen, Dublin De Quo beat Miss Piper (Starspangledbanner) by a head with Bold Ransom (Real Saga) another length back in third in the Fraser Livestock Transport Maiden (800m).

Dublin De Quo becomes the second winner from as many runners for the unraced mare Jibina (Northern Meteor). The filly's third dam is Listed placed Makarova (Thunder Gulch) who is herself a half-sister to Hurricane Sky (Star Watch) and Umatilla (Miswaki) while this is also the family of Manhattan Rain (Encosta De Lago) and Redoute's Choice (Danehill).

Jibina was covered by Harry Angel (Dark Angel) last October having not been served in 2019.

Sooboog will stand at Kitchwin Hills this season for an unchanged fee of $13,200 (inc GST). The son of Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) now sits third in the leading first season sires table in Australia by winners behind Capitalist (Written Tycoon) and Star Turn (Star Witness) who have sired 14 and 11 winners in Australia respectively to date.
