Windsor Park Stud has pulled off a bloodstock coup by securing former Ballydoyle superstar Paddington for stud duties later this year.

The four-time Group 1 winner will take up residence at the famed New Zealand farm after completing his first season at stud in Ireland.

The only horse in history to win the Irish 2000 Guineas, St James's Palace Stakes, Eclipse Stakes and Sussex Stakes, Paddington will stand in a joint arrangement between Windsor Park and Coolmore and Tom Magnier expects the son of Siyouni to be extremely popular.

"He was an unbelievable racehorse, everything we threw at him he delivered," Magnier said.

"Also, he's got the looks and he's got the pedigree. He really just ticks every box.

"I believe that he is the most exciting horse to go to stud in New Zealand in a very long time."

Paddington's Windsor Park fee will be NZ$35,000, plus GST, which is significantly less than his Northern Hemisphere fee of €55,000, which is the equivalent to NZ$98,000.

"Our partnership with Coolmore bringing outstanding stallion prospects to Windsor Park stems back to Montjeu and High Chaparral among others," Schick said.

"We are delighted to continue our great relationship through standing stallions of the calibre of Paddington and Circus Maximus."
