Joseph O'Brien-trained Magnanimous wins Glencairn Stakes at Leopardstown
The Joseph O'Brien-trained Magnanimous (3 c ex Lillebonne by Danehill Dancer) won Wednesday's Glencairn Stakes (Listed, 1m) at Leopardstown to become the ninth stakes winner for his Tally-Ho Stud-based sire Mehmas (Acclamation).
Under Shane Cross, Magnanimous pulled clear to score by two lengths from Fourhometwo (Ajaya) with another length and a quarter back to favourite Sinawann (Kingman) in third.
Mehmas' stakes winners include Group 1 winner Supremacy and he now has two crops of racing age. Crowned champion first season sire in Europe last year, his progeny also include ten stakes place getters.
