Renaissance breaks her maiden at Thirsk

After notching up his first Group winner on Thursday, Caravaggio (Scat Daddy) sired his 11th winner on Friday when Renaissance (2 f ex Blessing by Pulpit) broke her maiden over seven furlongs at Thirsk. 

Bred and raced by Sir Robert Ogden, Renaissance, who was having her third career start, took the lead with 200 metres left to travel and scored a two and a quarter length victory over favourt Ribaldry (Ribchester). 

Caravaggio’s first European-bred crop includes Group Three winner Agartha, Listed scorer Dizzy Bizu and the stakes placed pair Andreas Vesalius and Orazio. 

Coolmore’s Caravaggio is sitting second in the leading first season sires table in Europe by prize money, approximately €90,000 behind Cotai Glory (Exceed And Excel).
