The day after Galileo (Sadler's Wells) broke Danehill's (Danzig) record for the number of individual stakes winners, the late Coolmore Stud sire recorded his 350th stakes winner when Star Of India (3 c ex Shermeen by Desert Style) won the Dee Stakes (Listed, 1m2.5f) at Chester.

Starting favourite, the Aidan O'Brien-trained Star Of India, kept on well in the closing stages to defeat Cresta (New Bay) by two and a quarter lengths. The winner is now likely to head to the English Derby (Gr 1, 1m4f) while the runner up could head to the Irish 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m).

Galileo died last year at the age of 23. He is currently sitting in eighth place in the European leading sires table by earnings with Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) currently leading the table.
