Ryan Moore landed the four-race competition, which works on a points-based system, back-to-back in 2009 and 2010, while Marquand shared the prize with old UK weighing room colleague Silvestre De Sousa last year.

The New Zealand-born pilot James McDonald, who recently enjoyed notable success on Hong Kong star Romantic Warrior in the Cox Plate, will be looking to go one better than when second to Zac Purton in 2021. Purton, a six-time champion jockey in Hong Kong, will bid for a fourth success in the International Jockeys' Championship following wins in 2017,2020, and 2021.

Teenage Epsom Derby-winning hero Mickael Barzalona will represent France, with the now French-based four-time German champion jockey Bauyrzhan Murzabayev making his debut in the event.

Another rider to make their debut in the Hong Kong International Jockeys' Championship on December 6 will be Rachel King. The Group 1-winning Sydney-based rider was born in Oxfordshire before making a name for herself in Australia.

Japan's worldwide star Yuga Kawada will join the three highest-ranked riders in the Hong Kong championship standings on Wednesday 22 November, thus completing the twelve-strong field.

The four races are worth a combined HK$7.5 million in prize money. Meanwhile, a total prize fund of HK$1,000,000 in bonus money for the most successful riders will be split three ways, with the winner set to receive HK$600,000 and the second and third HK$250,000 and HK$150,000 respectively.

Hong Kong Jockey Club executive Andrew Harding said: "The Longines International Jockeys' Championship is one of the most exciting and prestigious events in the international racing calendar, and this year is of no exception.

"We have a spectacular line-up, and in particular I am excited to welcome Bauyrzhan Murzabayev and Rachel King to participate in the event for the first time."
