A Plus Tard on comeback mission in Savills

A Plus Tard will be aiming to get his career back on track in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown over the festive period.

Winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2024, the Henry De Bromhead-trained gelding has failed to get his head in front in three subsequent starts. A Plus Tard was pulled up in the Betfair Chase and the Cheltenham Gold Cup last season before a well-beaten third in the Grade 1 Aintree Bowl in April.

The Gold Cup hero will be joined by stablemate Envoi Allen and de Bromhead is hopeful of a big effort from his duo: "I hope both Envoi and A Plus Tard will run in the Savills.

"A Plus Tard schooled well the other day, he has another big piece of work coming up but he's in good form, he seems really well.

"Envoi seems really well, he's in great form. He ran really well at Down Royal so fingers crossed we get a clear run into the race and he'll be able to put in a good performance."

A Plus Tard is currently an 11/1 shot with Paddy Power behind antepost favourite Galopin Des Champ.
