Titleholder wins Kikuka Sho

And he did it by leading the whole way.

TITLEHOLDER winning the Kikuka Sho at Hanshin in Japan. Picture: Japan Racing Association

There are 6 turns when you run the 3000m at Hanshin and the son of Duramente gave his sire his first G1 as a sire by leading all the way and even finding enough at the end of the trip to add to his lead when challenged and win by 5 lengths.

Orthoclase tried to make a race of it but the winner was too good.  Divine Love and Stella Veloce also chimed in but too little too late.

Favourite Red Genesis did not get a good start and never threatened.
