49ers and Chiefs favoured for Super Bowl LIX

Just a month or so on from winning their second successive Super Bowl title, the Kansas City Chiefs, alongside their Super Bowl LVIII opponents the San Francisco 49ers, top the betting to lift the Vince Lombardi in February 2025.

The Niners are slight favourites at 6/1 and will continue to boast one of the most dynamic offenses in the game, featuring running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, tight end George Kittle and quarterback Brock Purdy.

On defense, the 49ers have lost talents such as defensive end Chase Young and defensive tackles Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw but have added former Green Bay Packers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell. They are a 2/5 shot to win the NFC West, but don't rule out the Los Angeles Rams at 4/1.

The Kansas City Chiefs, meanwhile, have quarterback Patrick Mahomes pulling the strings and head coach Andy Reid at the helm in a team that have won eight consecutive AFC West titles. The addition of wide receiver Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown could be a shrewd signing, and the retention of cornerback L'Jarius Sneed via the franchise tag is vital.

The defending champions are 7/1 to 'three-peat' and a short 2/5 to claim the AFC West once again. Looking at the divisional contenders, it would be hard to bet against the Arrowhead-based franchise.

The Baltimore Ravens, AFC runners-up in 2023, have added to their potent run game with the addition of Derrick Henry, a monster of a running back who joins the number one rush offense in the NFL.

With the offense also headed by MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, and an always strong defense, the Ravens are favoured to claim the AFC North at 11/10. However, this is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL, with the Cincinnati Bengals (7/4) and the Cleveland Browns (11/2) capable of competing.

The other contenders considered by the bookies are the Buffalo Bills (12/1), Detroit Lions (12/1), Cincinnati Bengals (14/1), Dallas Cowboys (14/1) and the Philadelphia Eagles (18/1).

Darkhorse options are headed by the Green Bay Packers (22/1) who reached the Divisional Round last season. It will be quarterback Jordan Love's second season at the helm of the offense and he really showcased his talents towards the backend of the 2023 season.

The team have also added Josh Jacobs, one of the best running backs in the game, and a talented safety in Xavier McKinney, but it was the offensive chemistry at the end of the last campaign that really excites us. The 35/1 Cleveland Browns are also worth considering.
