Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held Hawkesbury, Mackay and Quirindi.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 6 @ 4:20 PM

ROMA AVENUE (2) had four minor placings from as many starts before a well-deserved win last time out over 1350m at Wyong. Took over at the top of the lane that day and extended the advantage. Should slide across and take a sit behind a hot tempo and will be tough to hold out again. COMMUNIST (5) is the danger after a tough maiden win over 1400m here a couple of months back when lining up for just the second time. Has trialled since at Randwick. Blinkers on and McDonald takes the ride so plenty to like about his chances. CONCOCTED (1) got clear when it was all over and found the line with purpose to get up for fourth over 1100m at Wyong recently. Fitter for two runs back and will appreciate the extra ground on a bigger track. ZEMINNIKA (4) wasn't beaten far when resuming over 1200m at Wyong last time. Lightly-raced mare with definite claims. Last-start Kembla maiden winner WEALTHOFKNOWLEDGE (7) is another live chance in a very competitive race.
SELECTIONS: Roma Avenue each-way looks a safe bet.

MACKAY: RACE 6 @ 3:47 PM

SHALUNA (9) has won two of his last three and it was comfortable at Rockhampton the latest. He can go on with it for the high-striking barn. CAPTAIN FOX (1) made sharp improvement second-up winning here this grade and that stacks up. Gets more weight but is drawn for the run of the race and is a decent chance with Whiteley reunited. GHOSTED (8) has to manage a wide barrier but the former Victorian is busting to win and at a price is worth a look on the 38-day return. YUAN FEN (3) resumes for a strong yard with a leading hoop booked. Has a sticky gate but is a hope if presented on-song.
SELECTIONS: Going with Shaluna each way.

QUIRINDI: RACE 1 @ 12:55 PM

CRISTALINO (8) comes back to the mile off threatening efforts over middle distances. Trusting a leading barn to manage that and this isn't hard. The one to beat in a slog. DESERT ROSE (9) got too far back the latest but finished well and deserves to break through. Keeps the 3kg claim and will sit handier today. A chance along with MAHOMES (5) who mixes his form but the Scone placing two-back would have make him very competitive. KEEN IDEA (4) peaks and can show more at the mile.
SELECTIONS: With Cristalino.
