He looks suited coming back in grade for the Moreton Cup and had won over this distance in the G3 Hall Mark Stakes at Randwick two back.
Josh Parr knows Splintex well having won on him twice and the pair should get the favours from the inside draw.
Groundswell is another that finds a more suitable assignment in the following event.
The gelding faded out of the G3 BRC Sprint last start but he comes back to Listed level and had been in good form before arriving in Queensland with back to back wins in Victoria and South Australia.
He won his only previous try at 1500m and the speed map says he can dictate terms.
