Resuming from a win and two placings in four starts in his second productive Middle East campaign, Faatinah did best in a fairly crowded finish to claim his fourth stakes and eighth success overall.
He held a narrow early lead but settled second, sitting a half length back of the leader. He almost levelled up at the 600m, co-led inside the 400m but was second at the top of the short straight. Rallying, he caught the leader and put his head in front at the 75m then gamely held them at bay by a short neck.
Bons Away sat sixth, four deep down the side, ranged up into the straight and formed a line of three at the 50m but the winner fought him off.
Eduardo led or co-led to the 100m and when tackled held on well for third while Meryl cut the corner into the straight and kept on strongly along the inner for a close up fourth.
