Manicure wins Ladbrokes How Now Stakes Group 3, $160,000 at Caulfield, 1200m.
Never near the fence the entire trip, honest and consistent Manicure scored her second stakes win and fourth career win in 13 starts with a clear cut effort here.
From a wide draw she dropped into fifth, three deep from the 1000m and was held there to the 400m before cruising up to form a line of three at the 300m.
She then sped to the lead and was in control from the 200m and drew away by a comfortable length and a half at the post.
Angelic Ruler ran up to midfield (rails) approaching the 800m but was locked away to the 400m and had to wait for a run upon straightening.
She didn't get the split until the 100m and flew into second but too late to threaten the winner.
Dawn Dawn got off the fence from sixth at the 400m, went back to the inner from the 250m and kept on well for third while Bella Martini ,who tracked the winner in seventh at the 400m, ran on quite well wide-out for fourth.
