Missile Launch wins Magic Millions Tatt’s Cup, Listed, $100,000 at Ascot, 2100m.
Missile Launch is in good form, coming of a third in the Listed Ascot Gold Cup two weeks back following a win here two weeks prior to that for career win eight and his maiden stakes success. He was a handy fourth rounding out of the home straight and fifth (one out) past the 1600m.
He maintained his position to the 800m before improving and sat third, poised to challenge turning in. He went up, co-led at the 200m then muscled his way to the front and was in no danger by a long neck to the post.
Taxagano had a nice run in third from the 800m, edged closer rounding into the straight but was blocked. He got out at the 150m and made a solid run but was never going to catch the winner. Forceful was midfield (inner) rounding into the straight, got into the clear at the 250m and kept on solidly for third.
Spiritual Warrior was the first to challenge at the 300m, led briefly then battled away quite well for fourth.
