What is a Quadrella?

Updated Jul, 20th 2022 Racing & Sports

A quadrella is a bet type which involves you selecting through each of four races selected by the TAB. Quadrellas cost a minimum of 50c however generally people elect to spend more.

Each TAB meetings has four races which are selected quadrella legs. To successfully win the quadrella, you are required to find the winner in each of those four chosen races.

If successful in selecting the four winners you are entitled to a portion of the winning dividend. The dividend is determined by dividing the pool of money invested by the public by the amount of successful quadrella bets.

The bigger the win dividend, the larger the quadrella payout will likely be. You can structure your quadrella in a number of ways. Some may elect to have one runner in each leg which means there are only four potential winning combinations.

Most elect to go wider however, selecting multiple runners in the quadrella legs which gives them more potential winning combinations.

That in turn will result in a higher cost for your ticket although you could utilise Flexi betting, to take the same combinations for a lesser cost but also a smaller percentage of the potential winning dividend.
