Race 5 on the Happy Valley card will be the highlight.
There are 9 horses lining up for the Korea Racing Association Trophy Class 2 over 1000m for the speedsters and it is quite competitive.
We have liked Carroll Street 's recent racing and 13.0 sound good – Alexis Badel will ride for Douglas Whyte. With a very light weight Humble Star on 4.9 looks well placed and we will throw in top weight Whizz Kid on 6.0.
Everyone out at Sha Tin this morning was happy that it didn't rain and that includes the horses! This morning Japanese runners took advantage to do some work on the turf course and while some just had a light work out Sprint contestants Mad Cool and Sunrise Ronaldo clocked 27.0 and 27.8 for the last 400. Mile runners Champagne Color and Elton Barrows did 23.7 and 23.4 and Cup entrant Prognosis did it in 22.9. Horses that took the eye were North Bridge, Mad Cool and we have always loved Hishi Iguazu.
From the locals which we just saw on the TV Red Lion looked particularly impressive.
Tomorrow morning the Barrier Draw will take place at Sha Tin. This will be fun and games as they are doing extensive works to the entrance to the Members and you have to walk half way around the track to get in (or so it seems).
